Yvonne Krak
Yvonne Krak designs and crafts unique, handmade jewelry in which craftsmanship, material, and form come together. Her designs are inspired by organic forms from nature: flowing lines, irregular structures, and shapes that derive their beauty precisely from their natural character.
For her jewelry, Yvonne works with various metals and makes frequent use of the traditional lost-wax method. In this centuries-old technique, the design is first shaped in wax by hand. Subsequently, the wax model is embedded in a mold and melted out during the heating process. The resulting space is filled with molten metal. In this way, an original, organic form can be translated almost literally into a lasting piece of jewelry in metal.
This working method gives Yvonne the freedom to model and experiment with form, structure, and texture. As a result, each piece of jewelry emerges from the material and the making process and has its own character.
Under the name YK-ART, Yvonne Krak presents her collection of contemporary jewelry: small wearable objects at the intersection of craft, design, and art.
